Conceived as the first Japanese superbike, the orginal Goldwing was a real pleasure to own and ride. The flat four had plenty of torque and made power all the way up to the 8500 rpm redline. It was heavy, but with the right tires and shocks, handled exceptionally well. It was very stable on the highway and at super-legal speeds. The stability, shaft drive, torquey engine, and comfortable bench seat made it a great two-up ride for trips up the Calfornia coast, as well as a perfect commuter.
